We enjoy trying to make sure that your home stays your most valuable asset.  One of the best ways we know to help, is to pass along some simple maintenance tips that most people don’t know could save thousands of dollars.

Filters

Air Conditioning systems require properly sized filters! Filters are most commonly located in the heating plenum, or sometimes behind the return registry.

In order to keep an air conditioning system running at optimal levels, it needs to be maintained. Filters need to be cleaned or replaced for the system to work properly.

Most commonly, filters are made of disposable fiberglass. Permanent metal filters can be installed and are cleanable. Most filters need to be checked monthly.

Failure to maintain your filters will clog the system and restrict airflow to the house. This decreases efficiency by forcing the unit to work harder. The result is higher heating and cooling bills.

Dust particles cause filter problems. Cleaning the unit along with its's ducts and vents will help the unit run on an optimum level. A well maintained unit is essential to keep the unit cooling well and keep the electricity bills low.
