Home Owner Maintenance Tip
We enjoy trying to make sure that your home stays your most valuable asset. One of the best ways we know to help, is to pass along some simple maintenance tips that most people don’t know could save thousands of dollars. In combined central air conditioning and heating systems, the filter should be changed at least once a month to allow your system to operate at peak efficiency. If a system is properly maintained it should last up to 15 years. It is important to have the duct work professionally cleaned every 3 years. This will keep the home from becoming too dusty. Use ceiling fans, to circulate the air and put less strain on the unit. The attic needs to be ventilated to ensure efficient airflow. This can help reduced cooling cost by 10%. Wait until cooler times of the day to run dryers and dishwashers. Appliances omit heat and can raise the temperature in the house. Be aware of proper air flow to the vents by making sure there is no furniture blocking them.
