We enjoy trying to make sure that your home stays your most valuable asset. One of the best ways we know to help, is to pass along some simple maintenance tips that most people don’t know could save thousands of dollars.
Circuit Breakers
Circuit breakers are an automatically operated electrical safety devices that shut off electricity if there is trouble in a branch circuit. They are designed to protect wires from overloading and catching fire. They operate on temperature, building up enough heat until a circuit breaker trips. If a circuit breaker does not trip, it should be left alone to cool, then flipped all the way off and back on again. Never flip the large breakers (30 Amps and above) off and on until you are sure that the appliance is not on (ie. air conditioning). An air conditioning compressor could be damaged if it is running.
Circuit breakers come in different sizes from small to large. Small circuit breakers are to protect a home's appliances, and large switchgear are set to protect high voltage circuits feeding an entire city.
Please feel free to forward this maintenance tip to your friends and/or family members so they too can maintain their real estate investment.
