We enjoy trying to make sure that your home stays your most valuable asset.  One of the best ways we know to help, is to pass along some simple maintenance tips that most people don’t know could save thousands of dollars.

Drainage

In conjunction with a good watering program, it is absolutely necessary to have good drainage around your foundation.

Poor drainage can allow moisture to build up in the soil then find it's way into the foundation and/or basement were mold, mildew and musty odors can become problems.

Gutters are an important part of the drainage system.

Gutters need to catch water from the roof and channel it away from the foundation and the house.

If gutters have seams, they need to be sealed to prevent leaks.

It is important to place downspouts so that they flow onto a hard surface that is at least 5 feet away from the house.

If you notice any low spots in the soil, fill them with dirt.

Please feel free to forward this maintenance tip to your friends and/or family members so they too can maintain their real estate investment.
